Fans are the most egoistic people in the world... It doesn't matter which artist it is, fans in general are egoistic (and as a fan, I am guilty as well) As this is a Serj-forum, I will keep it to him...
No matter where he comes, how many places he visit for a concert, it is never enough. When I opened my facebook this morning, I saw the listening parties and the first thing that came on my mind was, grrrrr, why only in the states.... Because as a fan, I also want a part of the musician, I also really like to meet him, have an autograph and look the man in the eye...
But then I thaught, yes, he is also a man... And yes, we all "love him!!!!" We love him as long as he is giving...
But what happens if he stops giving? I looked at the dates of the listening parties and some are on the days he doesn't even have concerts... Those are his free days (if he ever have any!!!)

Some time ago I was backstage at some other band I liked with a lot of other girls... All those girls wanted to have autographs, get with the guy on the picture. He did it, gave them what they wanted but on his face was no smile, just a grin. Later, when those fans were gone, he also talked to the people who left he talked, really laughed and as I had my younger brother with me (he already talked with him) and then he came to me, gave me a hand and asked me if the kid was my brother... Actually, that was really cool, but that is beside the point...
Later I read in some gossip magazine he broke down, he doesn't want to have anything to do with music anymore and he really disappeared from the scene... And if I google his name, hardly any fans have any homepages, most of them switched to other music and other musicians and they totally forgot about him...
And me? Guilty as well... I had some fanbooks, and recently I took them out and put them on the attic.
But at the same time... I really get annoyed (and done it myself, so I am also angry at myself) with all the posts from people that he should play here, there, everywhere... (I actually want him back in Holland) ;-) and people almost demanding him to go back to SOAD, others try to force him never to return!!!!
Luckily he seems to me as a very wise man, who only does the things he wants to do, but even then, it must be hard to stand ground under all the pressure...
